Prayer Focus: Embrace God's Timing

By Brenda Brown

It is easy to get tied up in today’s fast-paced world. We forget that with this fast-paced world, it can make us forget that many things do not happen instantly. They simply happen in God’s timing. In those moments, we are tested to stand and remain patient. We may even start to question God’s timing. Regardless of how we feel, the truth is that God’s timing is perfect. If we could learn to trust in God’s timing and understand that He has a perfect plan for our lives, we will be able to keep true to our God-given purpose/mission, God will guard and priorities our time and help us not be preoccupied by other matters.

As we devote ourselves to prayer, fasting and God’s word’ (Acts 6:4) we will focus on prayer for spiritual freshness, and for “God’s Timing” for the congregation, the Elders, the Selection Team, and our Pastor.

This week we will “Embrace God’s Timing” to pray for an intimate work with God as Spirit-filled servants of God. We’ll pray for integrity, true humility, justice, love, compassion, and faithfulness through discernment. Discernment is the ability to understand and know something through the power of the Holy Spirit. It can include perceiving (observing) the true character of a person, the source, and meanings of spiritual manifestations (expressions and or appearance). Ask God for clear godly wisdom and discernment in all decisions, and divine appointments as we wait honestly for our newly appointed Pastor.

Remember: Do not become impatient when God doesn’t answer our prayers in our timing or when we think He should, but know that timing is in His hands, and it will be perfect.
